Jordyn and I are here at New Life Portage Park CYIA Training up north with 24 students and our CEF Teammates. It’s been an exciting week. Hard but exciting! Please pray for Jordyn and I and all the other participants because it is a lot of studying a lot of teaching and prep work. It is a commitment of which I’m sure many of us are surprised at the level of intensity.

It is an honor to be used in this way and I know that this is God’s way of testing our level of commitment and He has provided all that we need. Water, electricity, blow up beds, cool temperatures because all rooms don’t have air and the first day was scary and hot…when you are taken from your normal living habitat away from what you have grown to know it is a wake up call. The Lord has also provided good food to nourish our bodies and a building to host us. I know many missionaries who serve around the world do not even have these accommodations so we are most thankful. As nights away from our families are spent we find comfort in each other and God’s word and God’s promises. May we be the servants that He wants us to be as we prepare for 5-Day Cubs to reach children for Christ this summer. Pray for the hosts, the children, safe travel and that many come to know Christ. We start our practice clubs on Monday so keep it all in PRAYER! Jordyn will be taking a few days to hang out with her Dad and return to do her memory verse teaching on Thursday, pray for this time and how God will use her.

Thanks to Ben & Karis Jorden for allowing the Lord to use them to put this program together and for all their hard work and Jonathan King our Director for his leadership and input. And for the host of other CEF workers who participated and encouraged and nurtured us through this time.

Child Evangelism Fellowship

Over the last few months, much has happened in the world of life as a Missionary/Ministry Coordinator. Some of our clubs throughout Chicagoland have ended for this season and some still continue until the end of April. Please pray for on-going relationships with the children as we move into our summer season of 5-Day Club…where we take our fun filled classroom teachings to the parks and backyards in your community. Something else is happening on the South Side!!! Last month Lorimer Baptist Church in Dolton hosted a workshop, where me and some teammates taught a two day workshop filled with valuable information on starting Good News Clubs in the public schools. I say WOW!!! There were 32 in attendance from 7 different Churches wanting to unite in reaching Children for Christ. I want to first thank the Lord for His love and spirit during this time. Thanks Marvella for instituting her passon for Christ and putting the people together so this could all take place. Thanks to all who attended, we are looking forward to partnering with you to bring your goals of reaching every child in your community the gospel message.

The Lord uses all of us for His sake. After spending 3yrs. at Good News Club, 5 Day Club and 3mths at the Children’s Ministry Institute along side me, my 10 year old daughter, Jordyn had something to share at our 2011 CEF Fundraising Banquet. Her testimony to why she likes GNC was an encoragement to many. We also brought along my new granddaughter Zenaya, look at what she’s got to say too…We had a faboulous time. Please continue to PRAY for CEF and the work we do for the Lord.

I just read e-mails from several of you about how you were encouraged by the workshop and how the Lord gave you some things to take away that can be used for reaching the children. Those that did not send an e-mail, confirmed personally to me how beneficial and helpful the workshop was. As we move into our next lesson series the Lord has prepared us in ways that we can only begin to see…and that is exciting! Let’s continue to PRAY for the spirituality of the children and for each one of us so that we Guard our Hearts and send the message of salvation out in Christ like fashion.

“Hello Angela, Workshop today was real refreshing today. Beside myself there was Mattie, Len, Carol, Charlene, Al, Connie and Roosevelt. I came away with some new ideas for memory verse games; such as making a little puzzle for each one to put together to see who could do it the fastest, put each word or phrase in a envelope, pass them out and have them bring it to front one at a time and stand there to hold it up while we teach the meaning. Review game points; I’m working on some foam cubes with point amounts, zonk and double printed on the sides so the right answer person can throw them so everyone can see what points come up. Also I’m thinking of something like a bags game. Where they would toss a bean bag at a slanted board with holes in it and each hole would have a different value amount. Nerf bowling with plastic cups as pins that have points on them.

They had me close in prayer today so I prayed for all of us to to be faithful and strengthened for the coming weeks and that God would be praised. That we would see these children come to salvation and grow in their faith. I’m sure you feel overwhelmed at times trying to organize all these clubs but you’re doing a great job.I would like to get together with you this week to help. I’ll buy lunch how would that be ? Do you have the Black History lesson planned ? Let me know what you think.”

we discussed sending home parent letters to the kids once a month, sounded like a good idea to me.”

I’m grateful for being part of teams that are willing to work at the gifts God has given us, let’s keep building God’s army. It is a privilege to teach and impact these children’s lives and we have to work on it…don’t we? For those who couldn’t attend because of previous commitments, get with one of the other Leaders and hear some of the benefits. When the next workshop is scheduled, my PRAYER is that you will be able to see for yourself. For those who have never been able to attend or for those who have attended before…come out and see the new stuff! Thank each of you for being willing servants sharing your God given talents with others.

Hi Everyone,

God is good and I couldn’t wait to share the excitement from three of the four Good New Club® that the Lord has blessed me to partner with as Ministry Coordinator. We are at the end of the week and I am excited at what God is doing.

On Monday as we started GNC® at Whittier Elementary, Northlake, IL, the set up was a bit slow with this being our first week. We needed tables, chairs, screen but it all worked out for God’s glory. As the children patiently waited for things to work out, Mr. Roosevelt reached into his briefcase and pulled out the gospel glove sharing with the children the message of the Good News with the gospel colors. You could see, hear and feel the passion as he taught this on a whim. It was a treat to watch as I continued to set up and listen too. How fun! Then Mrs. Connie came in and taught the Jonah lesson with that good, high intensity fashion and excitement, the kids hung on to her every word…and me too. I was excited to share the GNC rules, introductions of our Team and lead us in song as song comes with the message of Good News to all the World. Mr. Al closed us out as he talked to the children about the importance of studying their memory verses, bringing a friend and PRAYER, that Is oh so needed. We had 5 more sign up from our original 9 bringing us to a total of 14 signed up for the new club at Whittier. Please continue to PRAY for God’s will to be done. The Principal is an encouragement as the Lord is working through her. She gives us all that we need to have a smooth, successful club as well as opportunity to reach out to the families of the school. On parent/teacher night last week we passed out and connected with 300 families, so we are PRAYING that this club will continue to grow as word spreads.

On Wednesday, at the GNC at Cather Elementary in Chicago, IL where 45 children signed up and attends club. The lesson of when God called Moses was taught. Ms. Deborah, a devoted and spirit led woman who works at the school, loves the children and continues to lead this club is an encouragement to the children, myself and the Moody students as we come to teach. Ms. Deborah wants to insure she doesn’t lose the older children that come to club, so as the lesson is being taught to the 5-10 year old children, she takes the 11-13year old children and prepares a more intense, age appropriate version for them and forms a group off to the side.

As I arrived, the children were coming to club and those that memorized their verse shared with me and talked about how God is working to help them grow. Shortly after the Moody students arrived with the presence of the Lord in them, it was incredible to see how they connect with the children and teach with charisma and love. The Principal of this school shared in this incredible time, encouraging the students and reminding them of what PRAYER is…simply talking to God. Using the gifts the Lord has blessed them with, the Moody students sang the song “Nothing But the Blood” using a guitar as the music. How cool. It was a blessing to be part of this club too, as one child PRAYED giving thanks for the club and everything that the Lord has given him. I then closed us out in PRAYER thanking the Lord for his presence and for the spirituality and safety of the children.

Today at GNC in Sunnyside Elementary, Berkeley, IL we had an amazing time. We now have 20 signed up for club and are PRAYING for more. Today we moved into the 3rd lesson of Moses the Chosen Deliverer where Moses Delivers God’s Message. What an incredible story that was told with the Holy Spirit working through an awe inspired Mr. Len, who knows this story oh so well. Mrs. Mattie with her passion, love and excitement for the Lord and love for the children, shared with the children how God wants us to cherish this special time at club by sitting up, listening up, zipping up, and hands up during club, then she opened us with a word of PRAYER for spiritual growth and understanding, who knew learning rules could be fun. Then our guest JongDae Choi, Reverend-CEF Missionary shared with us with intentional depth the memory verse-Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trusting in the Lord…”. The children had a fun time learning the verse as JongDae explained what it truly means to Trust in the Lord…and shared a game of repetition with them. Oh, but there is so much more…Mr. Jerry came and continued the exciting story of Nard, a 4 year old Isnag boy born in Asia that finally learned who Jesus is and what he has done for him and us. Because of Jerry’s love for the Lord and passion to teach the children God’s word, his time generated lots of questions from the children. And we were obliged to answer their questions. One child asked “Is it true that everyone who says that they are saved is?” And you know we crave opportunities to answer this question of how to become a child of God! Admit, Believe and Choose. Thanks to our Principal here too, who continues to encourage us and the children.

I had the privilege of counseling a child when the invitation was given. This child had passion in his heart for Jesus as he wept while praying to God to be there for him. We shared scripture on how God’s promise is that “He will never leave you” and referenced our memory verse to “Trust in the Lord…” It was a humbling experience to see the spirit manifesting in this child.

Last but certainly not least, Mr. Darryl came up and closed out this exciting session with PRAYER. PRAYER of thanksgiving and encouragement and excitement for what is taking place…Reaching children for Christ!

Mr. Jerry brought in Bibles, that he and wife Linda added personalized labels from your GNC Team and members of Crossroads Church. 14 children rushed to get the Bibles and one child asked if she could take one home for her sibling. The answer was of course YES! JongDae brought in gospel bracelets for all the children…and this is how God does it!

I CAN’T COME DOWN!!!!!! PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD

There were many who were interested in such experiences and wanted to get some insight firsthand on the African American experience, and what challenges we are faced with. As I explained during the conference, all missionaries have very similar challenges and my findings were that due a lot to history, finances, knowledge and support are many of the reasons so few african americans make that full-time comittment. Many of the students will be going into african american areas to serve as missonaries this venue was an opportunity for them to mence with one and discuss openly their questions and input. Prayer was key in fulfilling this spirit led message as I learned many things myself during my research. Our nation is in need of expanding our knowledge and committment to african american missionary work, not only overseas, but right here in the United States. Our children need to see us as missionaries and they need to know that they too can become one. During the conference, there was one african american gentleman who stated that he went on a missions trip with 30 of his white peers to Jamaica. In his view, the children looked at him as one of them and not as one of the missionaries. He questioned how to combat that thinking in the children?” I say “teach them” and “be the example” for them, that is what they need…to live it and see it lived.

My prayer is that our Church Leaders are embracing, encouraging and supporting African American Missionaries. The time is now and we just can’t wait. We are losing our children to the streets at early ages so I PRAY that we can bind together and serve the Lord the way He intended. Thank you to my Peers/Fellow Missionaries/Friends, Pastor and Family who supported and provided encouragement.

Isaiah 61:1 “The spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me. He has anointed me to go out and preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” This is what he has proclaimed for each of us.

Then is was on to CEF 2010 Reunion and it too was a memorable event. Thanks Marvella for coming up with this fantastic idea. As a newbee to the CEF family, meeting so many 20, 30 and 40 year committed Teachers, Instructors and lovers of the Lord was amazing. That was the most african american CEF experience I have had in my two years outside of the clubs. It was wonderful to see, but I still ask the question? Where are we today? Where is the next generation. God’s calling you.

The Lord continues to work through me in an incredible way. He continues to allow me to teach and coordinate Good News Clubs, Teach at workshops showing others how to partner with us for Good News Club, lead the Children’s Ministry at church, preparing lessons and tutoring young Bible teachers. The Lord has sent two more youths, that I have the pleasure of tutoring as they have joined our children’s church ministry team. It is magnificent to see God manifesting through them as they connect with the younger children and do an awesome work for the Lord. Youth teaching youth, adds a whole nother dimension.

Over the past few months, the Lord has instructed me to take part in 3 different Bible studies, Crazy Love, Breaking Free and Christian Beliefs all awe inspiring teachings, helping and developing my spiritual understanding of God’s word, so I am more equipped as I go out and share the good news to children and adults. In one of my studies, I was given a gift, a book of How To Find God-Living Water for those who thirst. Wow the title says it all….this is the debth of God’s word and I am so thankful for spiritual warriors who share what God has given them as it is a source for developing others like myself to go further into the harvest field. Last but certainly not least, the teachings of the great story of Moses, The Chosen Deliverer which is our six (6) week Bible lesson series that is being taught at the GNC throughout the public schools. Each week, as I have been studying these 4 different lessons, I ask that you Pray for my memorization as God’s word is exhilarating to the mind and soul and I cherish every moment. Thank you Lord!

I give Praise to The Lord, as He has also allowed me to Coordinate four Good News Clubs this season, a rise from two last year and I am so excited about forming connections with the Leaders who have committed to these clubs, Teaching and loving on these children. I continue to look forward to connecting with the children and their families and watching, teaching and learning more of God’s word. I’ve already been blessed with many spirit led opportunities with the children already. In club last week, a new GNC student, a 6 year old girl told me that she did not know how to get to Heaven and wanted me to share with her from God’s word how she can be part of His family, I was able to share with this shy, humble child with her hungry soul…God’s way of salvation. She still needs more counseling and I am looking forward to teaching her more becasue God’s goal for them is to fully understand and be able to shout to the mountain top without a doubt as to how and why they want to be a child of God.

I had the pleasure of a parent coming to me last week and giving thanks for allowing God to use me to take His word into the public schools. Her son came for the first time last week too. She went on to say it is what our children need and through the children, we can reach the parents too. She further told that she shared it with another parent and was asked how did that happen? Our response to each other “only God”.

I get all excited to share these life changing experiences, because they affect so many. Two weeks ago at one of the other clubs, while talking to the children about Christs’ life, death and resurrection. Based on their questions, responses and prayer requests they are so hungry for God’s word and a need to have a higher source to believe in. Their prayer requests were for family members who had passed on, prayer requests for more people in the world to know Christ. It was soul wrenching to hear what’s on the hearts of these young children. Their prayer requests were for others and not themselves, it was for an understanding of where their grandparents went after death. A sign of their innocent, loving hearts that need to know God’s word and His promises to each of us. It is times like these that let me know the work he has set before me is for his Glory and brings joy to my heart.

I PRAY that no one under estimates my appreciation. Each one of you has a significant role in my walk and you know what it is. 5-Day Club at Crossroads Church has ended. We had 5 fantastic days of giving the gospel message to children in the community. I look forward to next year as other young children have an interest in joining the team of SMA students and sharing God’s wonderful message with the world as a result of us being out in the community and sharing God’s word in a fun yet effective way. That’s what it is all about “regeneration”. The Lord has worked powerfully once again, as a result of sharing ministry opportunities with our youth, three young students came along side and partnered with me to fulfill God’s purpose for us all. To go out and preach the gospel to every living creature. To God be the glory.

Please keep praying for the spirtuality of the children. We still have three more weeks of clubs, where we will be going out in other communities and shaing the gospel message again.

21 children attended last week’s 5-day clubs. Most of the children proclaimed to be saved. There were five children who said they did not have their own Bible and guess what. I made sure that they were no longer able to make that statement. They now have Bibles. These 5 children were counseled for salvation. Praise God!

This gospel teaching activity was an interesting use of a traffic light. This traffic light illustrated how God will hear and answer when you call on Him. The red light symbolizes to “stop”! God does not want us to move at this time. The yellow light means to “wait” wait on God, now may not be the appointed time to move. Last, but certainly not least the green light means “go”! God has spoken to you and you heard the Lord and Savior tell you now is the time to move.

Love it, love it, love it…how to use easy to relate to symbols and teach children how to obey God.

Below, the children have a funfilled time as they play the review game. This time is where bible truths are reinforced and they can really relate to the memory verse so they can apply it in their lives daily.
