Hooray…I Passed my TCE1 Class

This is why I do what I do………:children across america ……..Our Future Leaders.

Today was the last day of TCE1 (Teaching Children Effectively Class) and I passed! As mentioned a few months ago, this class has equipped me to Lead A Child to Christ, Coordinate Good News Clubs effectively, conduct a Bible Lesson, and teach memory verses using simple, yet effective ways of memorization. It has been a wonderful class and I am looking forward to attending Children’s Ministry Institute (CMI) to become even more equipped to spread God’s word and impact lives of children across the land.

Thank you for your PRAYERS and your partnering. Where I am, you will be too, as we spread the Good News to all who hear.

Blessing for an amazing season with the Lord.

Good News Club Update

Yes, Lord, Yes, Lord, Yes Yes Lord. You all know that song. We had a yes Lord time today with the children. We broke up into small groups and spent a little get to know you time. I learned that two of the chilrden had accepted the Lord some time ago and are children of God. One of them wants to someday be with her father, who she believes is in heaven. She currently lives with her mom and misses her dad very much, so much, it is still a very sensitive discussion. Another student, lives with her Mom and has 4 sisters and 4 other brothers and she loves the Lord and wants all the family to be together.

In looking at the getting to know you responses, all of the children have high ambitions some want to be astronaunts, doctors, veteranarians, teachers, construction workers, handymen, basketball players, and even a President and yes someone said a Missionary like me. They understand that God wants them to live as the Bible teaches and that hard work and committment are necessary to reach these goals. The Bible tells us “I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me” Phil 4:13.

Take a look at some of the responses when we asked them to write down what they believe God wants them to do. To pray to him, to help others, to please Him, how about that! These children had some very…yes Lord answers and this makes our Lord and Savior proud.

Next week is the last session before the winter school break and we will be hosting our Christmas party lesson. The Message of A Star, it is a beautiful Christmas story, that the children and leaders will enjoy. I look forward to sharing more good news from the Good News Club.

We are asking for PRAYER partners and are enlisting all our friends and famlly to continue to pray for us as we move into the holiday season, PRAY that as we start back up in January, we will have even more children to hear the gospel. Last, but certainly not least, we passed around the “God can”. Here is where the children can place their prayer requests on a sheet of paper, place them in the God can and we then pray for their specific requests. Here are some prayer requests to be lifted up. god can now

*prayer to be a great kid and to be saved
*prayer that God will be their savior
*prayer for their sin
*prayer for their Mom
*prayer for the sick to get better

Please lift these requests up in prayer and PRAY for continued spiritual growth.

Be Blessed! from your Good News Club
Al, Angela, Connie, Jerry, Len, Linda, Mattie and Roosevelt

Please PRAY for the wonderful team of Leaders of the Good News Club who have partnered so that the word of the Lord continues to be spread.

Traveling to Michigan for support raising workshop

girlsWe left out today heading toward Michigan for a training workshop on support raising. Many of us are underfunded as we have been called to go out and preach the gospel. This is one of the toughest responsibilities in doing Gods work. The joy of teaching others who God is, is what we find honor in, however God tells us in many scripture verses that this too you must do. As we are traveling nearly 3 hours to Michigan with one of our newest additions to our CEF family, little William wanted us to sing lullibies to him, and we found joy in doing so. Singing all the carols of this blessed season that we could think of. Well we are here now and our wonderful friend Megan and her friend Jessica welcomed us with dinner and fellowship. They provided sleeping quarters for us at the camp where the workshop is being conducted at 8:00am tomorrow morning. That reminds me I better get some sleep so I can take in a the information that will be provided for us. Check back shortly for updates. Love and goodnight.

Update on TCE1 Class

Angela TCI1

105002603[1]This is an incredible experience.  The eye opening information that I am learning brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart, as I revel at the ways to teach children effectively.  It all makes sense.  The syllabus for Level 1 TCE teaches the ingredients for leading a Child to Christ, scripture memorization and just how important the Teacher is,  just to name a few.  It confirms that if we as Teachers are not prepared, we can not expect to prepare our children.  The teaching methods are simple yet effective.  Bible history facts are being taught on a level that is engaging as well as informative.   It stimulates your mind, creativity and understanding of God’s word.  Providing a whole new appreciation and love for learning God’s word.

THANKSGIVING POTLUCK DINNER AT CHURCH

IMG_3273

After a wonderful Church service today, we took part in a Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner.  There was so much food and great desserts.  It was awesome.  Everything from turkey and dressing, macaroni and cheese, string beans, brocolli and raisins, salad, and so much more, my stomach is full just talking about it.  The desserts were sinful, I ask forgiveness for trying almost everything on the table.  Thank you Crossroads Church of Hillside for a blessed morning and afternoon.  Pastor Mike talked today about “Being Committed” Committed to the advancement of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.   He explained three fundamental committments that define us:  1. How we advance the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, 2 to advance the growth of other believers and 3. the committment to the glory of God and how we are to live out these committments by enduring problems and persecution, relentless PRAYER and experiencing God’s power and presence.  Wonderful, wonderful message and fellowship. Read Galatians 6:11-18.

CEF Workshop at Broadview Baptist Church on 11/21/09

Workshop got off to a great start, there were approximately 35 people in attendance, participating and getting knowledge of how to run a successful Good News Club and teach children effectively.  It was an inspiring day.  I asked for PRAYER, as I did my teaching parts, and I want to Thank You for your PRAYERS.   There was a little struggle through the first session, but after continuous PRAYER, asking the Lord to take over, the second session was a breath of fresh air.  I want to thank my Instructors who encouraged me at the workshop, to lean on God and all will be fine, and it was!  I can’t urge those who teach children enough, on how important it is to take part in these workshops.  There are not many places today where you can get 6 hours of intense training from the word of God, including some materials for $15.00.

DSCN9785Here I am, as I teach others how to teach a memory verse using CEF’s IPEAR method, Introduce, Present, Explain, Apply and Repeat,  a simple yet effective and fun way to teach children memory verses so they understand God’s word.

DSCN9835  God says teach them while they are young and it will not depart from them.  That’s my daughter, Jordyn as she is a helper at the workshop for Kathy Bavec.  She loves the Lord and helping me with my lessons too.

This week in Good News Club – 11/19/09

pumpkin party 11.19.09
Well Team,
We finished up another lesson for our Lord and Savior, their were 15 in attendance today, a little down from our normal 18, but, the kids had a great time…again!  He tells us to go out and preach the gospel and that is what we are doing.  Thanks for everyone’s hard work and committment, these children are being reached because of the Love for Christ that you are eager to share.

I’ve looked over the permission slips, and from our 22 that signed up, 6 do not have Church homes listed, which indicates there may be unsaved children in our group.  Let’s PRAY specifically for them to be reached and ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior.  Then let’s also continue to PRAY for the other children as well.  We passed out invitations to our Church service today, so be sure on Sunday, to look for any of our GNC children and their families and PRAY that some come out to visit us at our Church home.

I gave more thought to our next 3 week session and have a suggestion.  In our next session, perhaps we could have one week where we just sit down and talk to the children in groups of 5 to get to know them a little better and get an understanding of their walk with Christ, each Teacher could have time to discuss in a small forum how to have an intimate relationship with Jesus.  We have three weeks before Christmas break, I was thinking, one week review of the past 5 week Bible lessons on Beginnings, then one week of group breakout sessions as mentioned above, then a week for the Christmas Party lesson.  Then we could start our next 6-week session with Patriarch’s in January.  Email me your thoughts.

The Pumpkin Party was grand, we had a lot of fun.  The theme of John 15:12 “My command is this, love each other as I have loved you.” was a grand ending to this session on Beginnings, instilling in the children’s heart to do as He commands us.  I know you all are looking forward to our next session.

I PRAY for each one of you, your families and friends.  I PRAY for God to do a mighty work in us all and thank him each day for His love, grace and mercy.  May we all keep growing in Christ.

Reminder:  Christmas Workshop is Saturday at Broadview Church from 9:00-3:00pm.  Lunch will be served, cost is $15.00.
Lessons:  The Life of Christ and The Christmas Party Lesson-The Message of A Star.  Oooooh….

Hope some can make it out to some part of the workshop.
